{"id":59,"date":"2026-02-01T14:33:46","date_gmt":"2026-02-01T14:33:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grena.nu\/index.php\/forstaelse-for-kvalitet\/"},"modified":"2026-04-10T06:07:27","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T06:07:27","slug":"forstaelse-for-kvalitet","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/grena.nu\/en\/forstaelse-for-kvalitet\/","title":{"rendered":"The Concept of Quality"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-a0cece94 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>However, there is no universal definition of quality for open educational resources: what is considered high quality varies depending on the educational institution, target audience, and didactic purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to provide reliable guidance, we base our approach on the international study by Zawacki-Richter and Mayrberger (2017), as well as the instrument developed by M\u00fcskens within the EduArc sub-project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twillo.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/qualitaet-von-oer-2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;Quality of OER and international perspectives&#8221;<\/a>. In addition, a critical review by other teachers should have been carried out. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-grena-step-item grena-step\" id=\"quality2\"><div class=\"grena-step__marker\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div><div class=\"grena-step__content\"><h3 class=\"grena-step__title\"><strong>\u00c5teranv\u00e4ndbarhet<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Other teachers should be able to reuse the educational material easily for their own purposes. Reusability should be supported both in terms of content and technically, and legal infringements should be avoided. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-grena-step-item grena-step\" id=\"quality3\"><div class=\"grena-step__marker\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div><div class=\"grena-step__content\"><h3 class=\"grena-step__title\"><strong> Till\u00e4mpning och transfer<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The educational material should be competence-oriented, i.e., support learners in developing skills and abilities.<br\/>It should encourage learners to apply their knowledge in practice. Therefore, it should include learning activities that enable students to transfer the content to new types of problem situations in their studies and working life. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-grena-step-item grena-step\" id=\"quality4\"><div class=\"grena-step__marker\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div><div class=\"grena-step__content\"><h3 class=\"grena-step__title\"><strong> St\u00f6d och v\u00e4gledning<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The educational material should include opportunities to check learning outcomes. For example, it can enable learners to check what they have learned through review questions or by carrying out a self-assessment.<br\/>To facilitate reuse, the material should also include supplementary information about the concept and previous use. This is best stored in didactic metadata.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-grena-step-item grena-step\" id=\"quality5\"><div class=\"grena-step__marker\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div><div class=\"grena-step__content\"><h3 class=\"grena-step__title\"><strong>Motivation och didaktik<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Det didaktiska uppl\u00e4gget b\u00f6r ha en stimulerande effekt p\u00e5 b\u00e5de studerande och l\u00e4rare. Det ska motivera studerande att engagera sig i \u00e4mnet och f\u00f6rdjupa sig i inneh\u00e5llet. L\u00e4rare ska k\u00e4nna intresse f\u00f6r att integrera materialet i sin egen undervisning.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-grena-step-item grena-step\" id=\"quality6\"><div class=\"grena-step__marker\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div><div class=\"grena-step__content\"><h3 class=\"grena-step__title\"><strong>Struktur, navigation och orientering<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The structure of the educational material should be clear and as simple as possible, so that learners can easily orient themselves and navigate the material.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-grena-step-item grena-step\" id=\"quality7\"><div class=\"grena-step__marker\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div><div class=\"grena-step__content\"><h3 class=\"grena-step__title\"><strong>Design, l\u00e4sbarhet och tillg\u00e4nglighet<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The design should support learners\u2019 engagement with the material. An appealing design can spark interest and sustain attention.<br\/>To ensure correct understanding, all components\u2014such as texts and graphics\u2014should be clearly visible and easy to read.
